Ultimate Air Assist – Trocen AWC708S

NOTE: Ultimate Air Assist for the Trocen Controller is different to RUIDA Controllers, I have found this solution works.

NEGATIVE CONNECTION of Switch for Pneumatic Solenoid Should Connect to OUT4 (indicated by Yellow Lines)

POSITIVE CONNECTION of Switches Connect to 24VDC (indicated by Brown Line)

OPTIONAL CONNECTION: The NEGATIVE CONNECTION of a Switch for Relay Should Connect to OUT1 (indicated by Yellow Lines)

This is Method is useful if you want to turn on exhaust and air while a job is not being processed, for example to evacuate fumes and smoke at the end of a job, turn on SWITCH to RELAY, this will turn on Exhaust air if it is connected to the relay power outlet.

The Switch for the Pneumatic Solenoid controls AIR to the Nozzle, by using this switch you can manually turn AIR ON if a layer or cut setting did not have AIR ASSIST ON.

You do not need to have 2 Switches, it would dependent on how you prefer to customise your machine’s Air Assist Kit.

Manual Laser Pulse Unit

In the video I show two methods of making a manual pulse button for the Co2 Laser, to enable you to pluse the laser for mirror alignment without needing to pulse from the Laser Control Panel.  This allows for quicker alignment and less walking around the laser machine.

IMPORTANT: Proper safety precautions should be used including Protective Eye Glasses when using the Co2 Laser Machine.

The 1st Method shown uses a potentiometer, enabling you to safely set the laser power to low milliamps for mirror alignment, and also features a safety switch to disable the momentary switch to prevent accidental pulsing of the laser tube.

The 2nd method only provides 100% laser power and does not include a safety protection switch.  Extreme care should be taken when using this method, and MW Laser will not be held liable for any personal injury or equipment failure or damage.

Some Photos of the Aluminium Blade Table that I manufactured for this build.

I used 40x40mm steel tubing welded into rectangle frame, then used some brackets I made to secure it to the lift set plates.
The allow blades I ordered as a set from cloudray by emailing them the width and depth of my frame with the spacing I wanted the blades, they then made them up for me.
The blade’s spacing rail was attached to outside of the steel frame with self tapping screws, so when ordering your blade length allow for 8mm thickness of blade on each edge. (eg. if your depth of bed frame is 1000mm then the blade length should be 16mm longer = 1016mm)
On the outside edge of the blade spacer I fixed some flat bar aluminium approx 2mm thick to prevent the blades from sliding out.

Part 3 – Axis Rail Guide Assembly

I apologise I am still trying to get this information together for you. I will update more here soon.

I got the Inner Rails due to budget for this build, and they should be good for the main work I do which is engraving, but also cutting out signs.  I’m not running my woodworking machines so dust should not be a problem for me.  I also aim to make the machine enclosure to prevent dust entering the rail guides, and will be maintaining regularly like I do with my current machine.

The 3 styles of Rail Guides are

  • Inner Sliding Rails – where the bearings run along the inside of a channel
  • Outer Sliding Rails – bearings run outside the rail’s edge. and
  • Linear Guide Rails – a Steel guide along the axis keeps axis movement precise.

These are available on Cloudray’s Website or their eBay store

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/705-53470-19255-0/1?ff3=4&toolid=11800&pub=5575520346&campid=5338570371&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fsch%2Fm.html%3F_ssn%3Dcloudray-laser%26LH_PrefLoc%3D%26_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm570.l1313%26_nkw%3DRAILS%26_sacat%3D0

The eBay listings have all dimensions and more information on these rail guides.

I have included some of these below.

Also Note: this website and information will be moving to my new domain soon https://mwlaser.com.au/ so if you bookmarked this page you may want to check my new domain in the coming weeks for the new link.

Cheers Matt.

CNC Laser Machine Frame

This Frame is still a work in progress so I will continue to add to this list until the project is completed.

In my video

I show the design software (https://www.framexpert.com/) I used to create a plan and cutting list for the chosen material for the frame of my machine 3030 Profile Aluminium Extrusion T-Slot.

I sourced mine here in Australia from (http://www.mkalu.com/). I ordered Bolts, T-Slot Nuts and Brackets from MK Aluminium (you can order in Australia via eBay from MK Aluminium – https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/kunyuwa0/m.html )

I didn’t purchase enough nuts and bolts, so I also purchased extra bolts and T-Slot nuts online, below.

I purchased additional M5 Bolts and Castors from The Fastener Factory

I needed more corner angle brackets and found them a bit cheaper to order online.

  • I ordered these Aluminium Profile Corner Bracket, 3030 Series L Shape Right Angle Connector, for Standard 8mm Slot Aluminium Extrusion Profile – https://amzn.to/2la1zQj
  • I used mostly 3030 profile there are a lot of different connections available to suit your needs – https://amzn.to/2ldP9XL
